HELIO OCEAN 2 TECHNICAL REVIEW

HELIO OCEAN 2 OVERVIEW
The Helio Ocean 2 is an extensive improvement over the original Helio Ocean phone.  We are happy to see that Helio will keep the dual slide design which is both innovative and convenient.  What made waves two years ago with the launch of the Helio Ocean looks to create an even bigger impact to the wireless world today with the Helio Ocean 2.  The application suite is much improved especially on the extended version with all the deluxe accessory suite already pre-loaded into the device by the Online Promotion Team.  The Helio Ocean 2 is much more compact then the original Helio Ocean and offers a more stable operating system. 

HELIO OCEAN 2 DESIGN
The dual slide design continues to impress us on the Helio Ocean 2 with clean sliding and much smaller footprint allowing you to slide it in your pocket and improving on the much bulky original Helio Ocean design.  The case is also sleek with a nice metallic finish to give it a futuristic look while providing the same sturdy and stringent casing to protect the Helio Ocean 2 from drops.

HELIO OCEAN 2 FEATURES
Helio Ocean 2 features are elaborate and build on the original Helio Ocean's extensive feature set.  Satellite based GPS is built into the Helio Ocean 2 providing now a much improved free turn by turn directions utilizing Google Maps.  The voice guided response system something lacking on the original Helio Ocean has also been added on this Helio Ocean 2, providing the features of the Mysto and the original Helio Ocean all in one device.  Where we saw the shortcoming on the Helio Ocean 2 was regarding the memory where the Helio Ocean 2 was packaged with just 512 MB of memory.  We highly recommend the extended version which increased the memory by 2GB of space making the only notable weakness disappear on the Helio Ocean 2.  The extended memory version builds on the multimedia capabilities of the Ocean 2 by allowing you to store more music, videos and files.

HELIO OCEAN 2 APPLICATION SUITE
The Helio Ocean 2 application suite is both feature rich and extensive.  The YouTube Mobile application is like none other in the market today, allowing users to login, rate and create playlists of their videos, something that is on the top of the list for Helio uses all over the nation.  The Facebook Connect is also something that we have not seen in mobile in the past, allowing users to work with Facebook as if they were right in front of their laptop.  Where the Helio Ocean phone was known as the MySpace phone, the Helio Ocean 2 looks to be known as the Facebook Mobile.

 

HELIO OCEAN 2 CONCLUSION
The Helio Ocean 2 looks to be the phone of the year, featuring all the great things of the original Ocean, but with a more stable OS, extensive application suite and more sleek look with a smaller footprint.  The only weakness that we observed was the lack of memory but with the extended version of the Helio Ocean2, that looks to resolve the issue with the memory.
